Orion Scientific
Orion Scientific settled in Houston, TX, in 2008. We have been active on two continents since 1991. Since its original inception as engineering solutions firm CreaTive SoluTions in Tilburg, the Netherlands, we have enjoyed serving a multitude of corporate clients and a small number of government entities by providing creative solutions to interesting challenges, mostly in electromagnetic and RF engineering, as well as functional and regulatory EMC.
We provide solutions, rather than specific services or products. We emphasize issue prevention through methodical design, research and early issue mitigation.
A few accomplishments:
- 2010, ongoing: interference analysis and mitigation of modular CNC kits and associated microcontroller hardware and drivers (RTS: late summer 2010)
- 2009,2010, ongoing: development of open source probe sets for reactive and non-reactive near-field measurements
- 2010.04: analysis & optimization of broadband ultra-compact near-field antenna for near-field EMC test range
- 2010.03: design & evaluation of pulsed interference source for near-field engineering testing
- 2010.02: compact multi-mode mode-stir engineering test cell for wireless interference analysis
- 2010.02: report on functional EMC and firmware interactions vis-a-vis the sudden acceleration of motorized vehicles
- 2009: roll-out of design services for green tech, Energy Star compliance, design-for-disassembly, design-for-recycling, design-for-making, design-for-open-source
